DUKORAL® is a drinkable vaccine that helps prevent diarrhea caused by enterotoxigenic E. coli producing heat-labile enterotoxin and cholera.

Enterotoxigenic E. coli (ETEC) is the most common cause of diarrhea for travellers to many parts of the world. Annually, ETEC is estimated to cause 200 million diarrheal episodes and approximately 380,000 deaths worldwide. If you eat food or drink water or ice that is contaminated with ETEC, you are at risk of getting ETEC diarrhea.

98% of travellers have been shown to make a food or water mistake within the first 3 days of their vacation:

Dukoral® proudly displays the CDHF Symbol of Distinction which indicates that the CDHF recognizes the efficacy of Dukoral® to help protect against heat-labile toxin-producing enterotoxigenic E.coli diarrhea during travels.

ASK YOUR HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL ABOUT TAKING DUKORAL® AT LEAST 2 WEEKS BEFORE TRAVELLING.

DUKORAL® is used to help prevent diarrhea caused by heat-labile toxin (LT)-producing enterotoxigenic E. coli in adults and children two years of age and older who will be visiting areas where there is a risk of contracting diarrhea caused by (LT)-producing ETEC. There are multiple causes responsible for acute diarrhea in travelers. DUKORAL® can only confer protection against LT-producing ETEC. Therefore, DUKORAL® should does not replace standard hygienic measures and food and water precautions. Like any vaccines, DUKORAL® may not protect 100% of people who receive it and may cause side effects. Talk to your doctor to see if DUKORAL® is right for you.
