Why Choose Medical Cannabis?

Did you know? Cannabis is used to manage a wide variety of symptoms because it contains multiple active ingredients, including a group of compounds known as cannabinoids. In many cases, cannabis is becoming increasingly recognized as a viable treatment option and/or adjunct to traditional pharmaceuticals. As of March 2018, over 295,000 Canadians were registered with a licensed producer for access to medical cannabis. *

Are you thinking of trying medical cannabis to alleviate some of your digestive symptoms? As we mentioned in one of our medical cannabis webinars, medical vs recreational – there are several benefits to choosing the medical cannabis route. Due to these reasons, we encourage patients use a licensed producer over choosing to use recreational cannabis. Some of these benefits include:

Lower cost: Claim on yearly income tax returns

Possible insurance coverage

Product availability, safety and quality: Access to high-quality products intended for medicinal use

Professional advice and on-going support: Individualized treatment plans with progress monitored closely

It’s really simple! Below are the steps you can follow to register:

1. Book your Appointment

Visit here to book your appointment now! Select a time that works for you on their booking page. Once booked, a coordinator will be in touch to let you know the next steps and how to set up the video call.

2. Meet your Healthcare Practitioner

A practitioner will join the video call. They will assess you for medical cannabis and potentially authorize/renew your medical document.

3. Meet Counsellor & Register with Licensed Producer

You will get the opportunity to ask in-depth questions about cannabis with your cannabis counsellor. Your cannabis counsellor will assist with product selection and dosing advice. They will also send the registration forms to the licensed producer (LP) on your behalf. The LP is who you will actually order the cannabis from.

4. Follow up & Support

Your counsellor will continuously help and support you along your cannabis journey. You will receive a digital “Welcome Book – Cannabis Guide” after your appointment which has all the information you need. Canadian Cannabis Clinic counsellors are on hand to help in between appointments as well. They can be reached either by phone, email or video call.
