Medical vs. Recreational: Why Choose Medical?

When cannabis became legal on October 17th, 2018 – many assumed that you wouldn’t need to buy your medical cannabis from a licenced producer (LP) anymore. Here at CDHF, we feel it’s important to mention the very exclusive benefits of choosing to continue to buy from your LP. In this webinar, Dr. Schneider will discuss these benefits which include (but are not limited to)

  • claiming medical cannabis on your income tax,
  • travel exemptions,
  • experienced support every step of the way, and most importantly
  • knowing exactly what’s in your medicine

Due to the fact that LPs are subject to strict testing protocols by Health Canada for every product they grow or manufacture, buying from your LP is the safest way to treat your diagnosis with cannabis.

Medical Cannabis: Laying out the Evidence

When healthcare professionals need to make decisions for a patient, but have questions about a drug, medical device, test, or procedure; they turn to the evidence. This rule also applies to prescribing cannabis.

Presently, the evidence states that cannabis might be useful in treating symptoms of conditions that include nausea and vomiting, loss of appetite, and pain. Patients, clinicians, and others in the Canadian health care system have been asking for evidence on the medical use of cannabis to help guide treatment decisions, and we’re here to help. In this webinar, Dr. Schneider will go through the evidence we currently have available to us and talk about new studies that are already taking place. He will also hone in on the clinical evidence related specifically to medical cannabis and GI conditions.
