Availability of Remsima™ SC for Canadian IBD Patients

The Canadian Digestive Health Foundation is committed to supporting individuals with IBD and raising awareness about advances that may improve patient care. Canada has one of the highest rates of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) worldwide, impacting individuals living with Crohn’s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). Managing moderate to severe cases of IBD often presents significant challenges for patients, caregivers, and the healthcare system.
A subcutaneous formulation of infliximab is now available in Canada for individuals with moderate to severe IBD – Remsima™ SC (infliximab injection). This formulation allows for self-administration of the medication directly into the tissue beneath the skin. Individuals with IBD should consult their healthcare providers to determine whether this treatment option may be suitable for their specific needs.
